Here are straightforward answers to the things families most often want to know before beginning.
Do I need to organize my photos first?
No. You can send your collection just as it is.
Boxes, albums, envelopes, and loose photographs are welcome. You do not need to count, sort, or know all of the dates before getting started.
What types of photos and materials can you digitize?
Save My Photos currently digitizes printed photographs, documents, Polaroids, negatives, and slides.
Polaroids, negatives, and slides have an additional per image charge because they require additional handling and scanning.
Save My Photos does not currently digitize videotapes or other video formats.
Will I get my original photographs back?
Yes. Your original photographs and materials are returned when your project is complete.
How will my digital files be organized?
Your digital files are grouped into practical folders using the information available in your collection. Files are also batch-renamed so you are not left with thousands of generic filenames.
Exact dates and names are not required. When information is unavailable, I’ll use the most practical organization system for the collection.
How will I receive my digital photos?
Your completed organized digital files are delivered on a USB drive. A Memory Frame or Memory Movie can also be added if you would like another way to enjoy and share your photographs.
How long will my project take?
Project timing depends on the size and condition of your collection and the amount of organization required. I’ll discuss a project-specific estimate with you before work begins.
Can I ship or drop off my collection?
Yes. Initial shipping of photographs is paid by the customer, and local drop-off is also available. Return shipping of original photographs and USB delivery are included in the standard package price. Specific instructions will be provided before your project begins.
How do I get started?
Start by telling me what you have. You do not need an exact photo count or perfectly organized collection.
Use the Save Your Photos Now button or contact form to share an approximate count—or simply tell me you have several boxes. From there, I can determine the best package and next steps for your collection.
